The Foundations of AkhuRa Tantra
AkhuRa Tantra is a system rooted in Nubian/Kemetic theology, which provides a culturally-relevant foundation in Tantra philosophy, practices, and tools for holistic healing. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive space to learn about Tantra, to deepen the understanding of energy medicine, body work, and explore their sexuality in a holistic and empowering way.
Our course is designed for those interested in personal and professional development, making it accessible to people who are new to Tantra as well as those who are looking to deepen their practice.

HARM REDUCTION
Specifically in relation to Tantra and Sacred Sexuality, we implement the following processes to ensure the graduates of our program are ingrained with integrity and of good character, which translates into being honorable in the work.
All Practitioners & Ministers are required to go through the AkhuRa Pre-Course. This process brings to the forefront any character flaws that may affect the judgment and discernment of the Practitioner. It is with understanding that as humans, we all have flaws, the purpose of this course is to weed out those who are NOT willing to be honest about those flaws, hold themselves accountable for their healing, and work from moral/integrity and not an unhealthy ego.
Client Pre-Req: All Professional Practitioners are encouraged to properly vet their clients before engaging in any Holistic Sexology Sessions. This vetting process can include but is not limited too: homework assignments, assessing triggers and traumas through in person consultations and other modalities.
Practitioners/Ministers are required to educate clients about emotional intelligence and how to process “Feelings” that may come up in the session.
Public Listing: Practitioners and Ministers are required to fulfill the Recertification requirements to remain listed as an active practitioner. All active practitioners will be listed on our website. If practitioners are not listed on our website we would not suggest working with them due to our inability to hold them accountable..when there is an infraction, the practitioner's license is suspended.
All Practitioners/Ministers are required to sign Code of Ethics and agreements and meet recertification requirements.
All Members (Non-Professional) are required to sign an Oath of Social Accountability.

How do I transition into a leadership or Ministerial role?
Candidates for leadership must be active members for a minimum of six months. Advancement to specialized roles like a Somafo (Minister) or Lay Priest/Priestess involves the completion of designated ministerial courses and training within AkhuRa Temple.
Does AkhuRa Temple operate through a Private Membership Association (PMA)?
Yes; as an affiliate of NCUSO, we affirm the lawful right to establish and operate PMAs as private contractual arrangements outside the jurisdiction of public commercial law . These arrangements protect our sacred community and ensure our interactions remain in the private domain.
What is the AkhuRa Academy, and who can enroll?
The AkhuRa Academy is our educational arm dedicated to nurturing the next generation and current leaders. Enrollment is open to those seeking deep study in the science of the cosmos, ancestral wisdom, and the principles of economic empowerment.
Can I establish an Auxiliary Ministry under the AkhuRa Temple umbrella?
Yes; groups wishing to operate as an auxiliary ministry must submit a proposal to the Temple Council for approval. Once approved, these ministries focus on specific areas of service while adhering to the Temple's core mission and values.
How does the Temple support members during times of hardship?
Our Temple Covenant prioritizes holistic well-being, and we manage voluntary funds to assist members during bereavement, illness, or hardship. The Council of Elders and Trustees coordinate these efforts to ensure no member's dignity is violated during the process of assistance.
What are the expectations for maintaining "Active Member" status?
Active members are those who, within a calendar year, attend worship, participate in the sacraments, and contribute financially through tithes and offerings to support the Temple’s wider mission . This commitment ensures you maintain the right to vote and influence the direction of the community.
